The Market Is Missing Something Big at Tapestry
Tapestry's fiscal Q3 2026 (quarter ended March 28) produced revenue of $1.92 billion versus a consensus estimate near $1.80 billion, and non-GAAP EPS of $1.66 versus the $1.31 estimate. These are not marginal beats.
What made this quarter structurally different from routine outperformance:
Breadth of demand. Growth was global — pro forma constant-currency sales grew 20% in North America, 21% in Europe, and 30% across total Asia-Pacific, with Greater China surging 55%.
Volume and price simultaneously. Coach's core leathergoods unit volumes surged over 20% while average unit retail (AUR) prices grew at low-double-digit rates. This pairing is rare in consumer brands. When it persists, it signals genuine demand expansion rather than mere ticket inflation.
Margin leverage. Non-GAAP operating margin expanded by 490 basis points year-over-year, driven by 80 basis points of gross margin expansion, 410 basis points of SG&A leverage, and an 80-basis-point tailwind from the Stuart Weitzman divestiture.
Customer acquisition. The company acquired over 2.4 million new customers globally, with Gen Z shoppers comprising more than 35% of the total.
The stock dropped roughly 10% following the report — the kind of reaction that creates opportunity if the fundamental story is durable.

Coach's operating profit far exceeds the consolidated total after accounting for Kate Spade's near-breakeven results and corporate costs, making it the overwhelmingly dominant earnings engine of the enterprise.
Several features of Coach's trajectory deserve attention because they are often underweighted in consensus modeling:
