Compared to IP peers like Synopsys and Cadence, Rambus uniquely combines patent royalties, silicon IP, and physical chip sales. This hybrid model supports both high margins and growth. The company’s focus on technically demanding, standards-driven niches (AI servers, data centers) insulates it from commodity pricing and cyclical swings typical of broader semiconductor markets.
