Alibaba’s competitive edge rests on a combination of scale, ecosystem integration, and technology leadership, particularly in China. This user base creates powerful network effects, making Alibaba the default marketplace for both consumers and merchants.

Alibaba’s cloud division is the largest in Asia-Pacific and fourth globally, with double-digit revenue growth (18% YoY in Q1 2025) and a full-stack offering spanning infrastructure, AI, and industry-specific solutions.
