ASTS has secured long-term access to up to 45 MHz of premium mid-band spectrum in the U.S. and Canada—an asset unmatched by rivals—which supports peak data rates up to 120 Mbps. This spectrum position, combined with its large phased-array satellites (up to 2,400 square feet), enables higher bandwidth and coverage density than competitors.

Strategic partnerships with major mobile network operators (AT&T, Vodafone, Verizon, Rakuten) and government agencies provide both distribution and validation. As of mid-2025, ASTS has agreements with over 50 operators, covering nearly 3 billion subscribers globally. In contrast, Starlink and OneWeb primarily target fixed broadband and lack comparable direct-to-device operator integration.

Operationally, ASTS controls most of its satellite manufacturing, supporting cost management and supply chain resilience. However, the company remains pre-revenue and faces execution risk, capital intensity, and potential regulatory hurdles.
